Frequently asked questions
Don't you do sales, not give advice?
Real advice starts with planning, not products. Before a single investment or insurance decision is made, I help you build a full retirement roadmap—income, taxes, healthcare, and legacy priorities included. As a fee-based fiduciary, I don’t sell proprietary products and don’t earn commissions. My only incentive is helping you make the right choices for your goals.
What if I don't think I need a financial advisor?
Even confident savers can benefit from an experienced guide for complex retirement choices—Social Security timing, Roth conversions, survivor income planning, and long-term care decisions. If you are curious we can have a short call to discuss.
What if I don't trust finance people?
You’re right to be cautious—too many stories exist about sales-driven advice and hidden conflicts. That’s why I operate as a fiduciary. legally and ethically required to act in your best interest at all times, with transparent fees and no commissions. You can review my Form ADV, engagement terms, and planning process anytime. Trust is built on clarity, and I work hard to earn it every step of the way
I think Advisors are too expensive
It’s fair to wonder whether an advisor adds enough value to justify the cost. Independent research shows they often do. A recent Vanguard study found that working with a skilled financial advisor can add about 3% per year in net returns after accounting for taxes and behavior—well above fees. Here is a link to that study
What if I don't have enough money?
You don’t need to be wealthy to deserve good advice. I specialize in helping regular retirees—people who’ve worked hard, saved what they could, and now want confidence that it’s enough. There’s no judgment, no jargon, and no high account minimums. Whether you have $100,000 or $1 million, the goal is the same: use what you’ve built wisely and retire with peace of mind.

That sounds great... but I'll get to it later
Procrastination is normal—retirement planning can feel overwhelming. But waiting can quietly cost you: lost Roth conversion windows, higher Medicare premiums, or sequence-of-returns risk in the early years of retirement. Getting started doesn’t have to be big or scary. We can begin with a short fit call or a one-page retirement review—just enough to give you clarity and momentum.
I already have a guy
Many retirees assume their broker, insurance agent, or 401(k) rep is providing complete planning—but those roles often focus only on investments or products. True retirement planning covers income sequencing, tax strategy, and estate coordination. If your current advisor isn’t addressing those pieces, a second opinion may highlight opportunities to improve security and reduce taxes.
I am ashamed
You’re not alone—many people delay planning because of past mistakes, debt, or fear they’ve fallen behind. My job isn’t to judge; it’s to help you take the next best step forward. I’ve seen clients start from tough situations and move toward stability and confidence with a clear plan. Every situation is private, every story is respected, and every plan starts exactly where you are.
